KC Canes 11U defeated BC Mallicoat 14-0 on Monday evening as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Khristian Sanchez struck out the final BC Mallicoat batter to finish off the game.
The Canes got things moving in the first inning with four runs scored but broke it open when they scored five runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to a walk by Khristian, a single by Benny Ragan, an error on a ball put in play by Kaiden Johnson, and a double by Carter Scrivner.
Jordan Miller pitched the Canes to victory. He allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out three. Khristian and Kaiden entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
The KC Canes tallied 11 hits in the game. Benny, Carter, Khristian, and Landon Cooper each racked up multiple hits for their squad. Benny went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Canes in hits.
